Razer Naga

I pre-purchased the Razer Naga as soon as I saw it on the Razer website.  I’ve been looking for something like this for a while.  I tried the SteelSeries WoW mouse that Kitty has, and didn’t like it.  I got this one a few days after launch, and have loved it since.  It has addon’s to make it easier to setup, but I find just leaving it on the numpad numbers works good for me.  I just bind what needs to be bound, and away I go.  This of course means that I can play games other than WoW and WhO with my mouse.

After using it for a month, I love it.  It works great, I can easily reach most of the buttons, and it works well in all of my games,

If you have the money, and you’re looking for a new mouse, this is the one to get.

Where have I been?

Unfortunately RL sometimes interferes with gaming.  This is what happened to me recently.  I haven’t had a chance to game as much as I want, or to write up what I’m up to.

I’m hoping to write a few posts this afternoon to handle some of that.  I still need to write about my experiences with the Razer Naga, as well as what I’ve been up to in the gaming world.  Stay tuned, I should have them up soon.

WoW, RAIDS, and Me.

The last few weeks have been interesting.  I started out by working on Nymble and at least getting her raid ready…then I started raiding…and it was Awesome.

I finally got my UI squared away, and i’ve finally found a good rythym for raiding.  I’ll be writing up my thoughts on the Razer Naga and my UI in the next few days.

Until then, happy gaming and stuff.

The current State of MMOs and Me

I’ve been playing MMOs for about 7 years.  Over that period of time What I’ve wanted out of MMOs has shifted.  In the beginning I wasn’t very picky, I just wanted to play a decent game with other people.  As time passed I was more interested in a solid storyline.  However once you’ve been playing for a while, the storyline while solid is repetitive.  That lead me to start looking into PvP a little more seriously than I had in the past.

I went to Guild Wars  for GvG.  It was fun while it lasted, but leading a team of GvG players doesn’t leave a lot of time to relax and actually enjoy the game.  I left Guild Wars for WoW.

WoW is interesting to me, in that the PvP isn’t very good…but it had me stick around for a while.  Then Warhammer entered Beta.  I tested, and decided it was pretty good.  Ordered my copy and played for a few months…however it wasn’t that easy to find a decent group of people to play with.

I went back to WoW for a while…tried the Arena Tournament…and it was all right, but just not quit the PvP I was looking for.  I think what I really want is the PvE of WoW and the PvP of Guild Wars.

In the meantime I’ve tried a number of betas AION included, and I just haven’t found anything that is really what I’m looking for.  With that in mind, I’ve spent some time over the last few days, setting up a nice Single PC Multi-Box setup for WoW.  I’m now working on leveling 5 toons at once, and learning about multi-boxing.  Once that’s done, I may give it a try with Warhammer…of course if I do that, it might have to be 6 accounts instead of 5.

Only time will tell, but I’m at least having fun doing what i’m doing.

AION – First Thoughts

Well, considering this is a PvP blog, I’m not sure how this will work…but hear me out.

The First beta weekend for AION started today, and it’s running pretty smoothly all things considered.  There was very little lag.  There was no problems logging in, and there were a lot of people online while i was there.

However, since we are only allowed to create one race of people right now, there really isn’t any PvP…unless you count dueling…which I don’t.

Overall the game looks good.  It runs pretty good.  Everything is pretty smooth.  There is still some work that needs to be done, but since the beta is running version 1.0 of the client, and 1.2 is already out and running in China…I know things will improve.

I’m hoping for a few changes to the UI setup…things like addons, and the ability to move/resize all elements of the UI.  I think it’s obvious that I love messing with the UI, so I’m hoping that’s put in as well.

The wife and I got to level 7, which isn’t too bad considering we have 3 sick kids, and we only played for maybe 4 hours total.

In other news, it looks like she’s getting into the #1 raiding guild on her server, so that’s pretty sweet for her.

That’s all for now, I plan on having a better write-up on the beta for Sunday Night / Monday morning.

Aion Beta

Aion beta starts this weekend.  I’ll be checking it out.  If you get some time, you should head over to Game Stop and pick up a copy of the pre-order, which includes a key to allow you to play in all of the beta weekend events.

Huxley

I got into the File planet Huxley beta yesterday.  I gave it a try…it felt too much like an updated version of Gunz.  Wasn’t enough for me to really get into it.

However, since then I have purchased my pre-order copy of Aion, which includes beta weekend events…this weekend should be a good time to test.

Looking forward to it, especially since I found out my boys from SI are going to be partaking in the Aion Beta.

30 = Tier 4 :)

I finally made it to level 30, which means Tier 4…w00t.  Great night of keep takes last night, we defended 2, took back the 2 order stole, and then defended a third…was a good night for ORvR in general.  On top of that, I finally got 30.  Time to move into tier 4 and heal keep defense.  :)

Chris and I met this great guild.  We were leveling with this great guild in Warhammer.  They decided to play CoV, so I re-activated my account.  Within a day or two, I remembered why I had canceled my account.  The PvE is very repetitive, and the PvP is non-existent.

Last night Chris mentioned Guild wars to them.  I always enjoyed Guild wars, I just got burned out leading a competitive GvG guild.  It has some really nicely structured PvP, and it has no monthly fee.  I took some time last night to setup my UI so I would be happy with it.

I’m still leveling within Warhammer, because I truly enjoy that game, but it’s a lot slower leveling a healer with no team now.  Anyways, only time will tell which game we really start pushing together in, so we can succeed at PvP.
